Call to Emerging & Established Artists for Kings Beach Streetlight Banners
Put your artistic mark on the Kings Beach commercial core revival and beautification by responding to a call to artists for “artistic” banners to be displayed on streetlights in the newly renovated Kings Beach.
North Tahoe Business Association (NTBA) recently released a call to artists and is inviting proposals for streetlight banner art to be displayed among the promotional-style banners already on display on main street Kings Beach.
Proposals from artists of all experience levels, young and old, established and emerging are encouraged. The banners for this art call will be selected based on design and content. NTBA is looking for artwork that is colorful, meaningful, and enhances Kings Beach main street.
“NTBA looks forward to further beautification and differentiation of Kings Beach with this program, and is pleased to provide an opportunity to established and emerging artists for their art to be viewed by millions,” explains NTBA executive director, Joy Doyle.
Call to Artist submissions are due February 24, 2017 and should include both a preliminary color rendition and a brief narrative description about the artwork. The banner size is 18 inches wide by 36 inches high and will be professionally printed onto poly canvas. An $80 artist honorarium will be awarded for each selected banner.
Those interested in submitting artwork for consideration must read and follow the call to artist. To request the call to artist, email info@NorthTahoeBusiness.org or call NTBA Staff at 530-546-9000.
NTBA is also seeking sponsors for “artistic” streetlight banners this year and beyond. $250 sponsorship covers one artistic banner production, shipping, installation and artist honorarium cost, and helps to fill the 38 streetlights with colorful and artistic banners. To sponsor an artistic banner in Kings Beach, or to learn more including sponsor benefits, contact Joy Doyle at 530-546-9000.
